There's more to caring Cockett Police Station cleaner Julie Gardber than a mop and bucket. She was given a special gong for her compassion towards people whose lives have been ripped apart by crime. Despite having a family to feed and bills to pay, Mrs Gardber dipped into her own pocket to spruce up the Station's victim support unit.

Chief Superintendent - Commander Mark Mathias lavished praise upon Mrs Gardber and said her selflessness went beyond the call of duty. "The victim support unit is am incredibly important part of our Police Station" he added. "For Julie to work so hard in making sure it's a comfortable environment for those who have suffered tragedy is truly commendable,"
