The following information has been received from the Executor.

It is with great sadness that Jude's family and I announce that on Monday 16th March 2015 Jude passed away at the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth after a short illness.

The funeral will be held at Thornhill Crematorium on Thursday 2nd April 2015 at 10:15am Changed
At Jude's request, would any attendees please refrain from wearing black and if possible to instead wear something lime green. No flowers would be required, however should anyone wish to contribute in any way, Jude had requested that donations be made to the Sunnyvale Cat Rescue in Wenvoe. There will be a collection box at the funeral for anyone wishing to make such a donation.

As Jude was not religious, she requested a non-religious 'service' and therefore the funeral will be relatively short. Therefore, should anyone wish to say a few words, a small number of people would be welcome to do so and should contact me at the email address below so an order of service can be arranged. Additionally, should anyone wish to submit any written tributes or the like, these would also be welcomed and can be read out by the small number of people who will speak. Again, please use the email address below for this purpose.

Obituary Alan Lloyd

Bryon Tucker
Updated - 11th February

Tributes: have been paid to the founder of Langland Bay Lifeguard Club Alan Lloyd, who has died at the age of 76. He played football for Wales against Germany for the Boys' Club of Wales, and for Llanelli and Gloucester City.

Mr Lloyd's call-up for National Service in 1958 resulted in him seeing action in two war zones as part of 45 Commando Royal Marines, serving in Malta as part of the Amphibious Warfare Squadron, and he was also summoned by Crown Agents to work at the intelligence unit at Bletchley Park, undertaking classified work.

He formed and trained Swansea Police Lifeguard Squad that won the British Lifeguard Championships in 1985. He was also joint chairman of the Welsh Police Forces Federation.

Colleagues at Langland Bay Lifeguard Club praised his dedication to lifesaving and lifeguarding, describing his contribution as immense. Paul Carr, who supported him in the formation of the club, said: "He made a massive contribution to lifesaving and the Boys' Club of Wales. He is a great loss."

Club coach Paul Williams said: "He touched the lives of many people in different circles and entered everything with vigour. He put his heart and soul into everything."
